Happy to help. Most answers are below — and you can always email a real person.
The fastest way to reach us is email: daryankamalifar@gmail.com. We read every message and usually reply within a couple of days.
Getting started
- Plan your day. Add tasks and calendar events, set gentle reminders, and keep habits as a soft daily floor. Big things become projects made of small steps.
- Capture an idea. Jot a rough note, image or link — then let Vela reshape it into something clearer when you come back to it.
- Save a word. In Tools → Vocabulary, add any word in any language. Vela writes a clear meaning and an example, reads it aloud, and brings it back to practise on the days it helps most.
- Use your voice. Tap the orb on any screen and speak. Vela carries the request out, shows you what it changed, and keeps Undo one tap away.
The Tools hub
Tools holds four things, each on its own screen. You can turn any of them off in Settings if it isn't for you.
Wake up
A real system alarm, so it rings through Silent mode and Focus. To stop it you complete a small mission — type a phrase, take a number of steps, or do push-ups. If you pick push-ups, Vela counts them with the front camera on your device; if the camera can't see you or you decline the permission, it counts from motion instead, so it can never leave you stuck in front of a ringing phone. Nothing is ever recorded.
If the alarm doesn't ring:check that you allowed the alarm permission when asked (iOS asks once), and that the alarm is switched on in the list. Please don't rely on it alone for anything critical.
Pomodoro
A quiet focus timer — work in one stretch, then take the break when it arrives. Your focused hours are recorded so you can see them on Home.
Screen time
Set a daily limit on the apps that take your evening. On iPhone and iPad this uses Apple's own Screen Time, which you'll be asked to allow the first time you set a limit. Vela never sees what you do in those apps — the limit is enforced by iOS on your device.
Vocabulary
Practice is spaced across days rather than crammed, so words come back just as they're about to fade. Miss a day and nothing is lost.
Permissions
Vela asks for each permission at the moment you first use the feature that needs it, never up front, and every one of them can be declined without breaking the rest of the app:
- Microphone & speech — for the voice orb. You can always type instead.
- Notifications— for reminders and the alarm's backup.
- Alarm — so the wake-up alarm can ring through Silent and Focus.
- Camera — only if you choose push-ups as your alarm mission. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
- Motion & fitness — only for the step-counting alarm mission.
- Calendar — only to show your events beside your plan.
- Photos — only for the pictures you attach to an idea, or your profile photo.
- Screen Time — only when you set an app limit.
Changed your mind? Every one of these can be switched on or off later in your device's Settings app, and Vela's own Permissions screen shows you where each one stands.
Common questions
Is there a free trial?
No — Vela is a straightforward paid membership with no free trial. You can start whenever you're ready and cancel any time.
What does it cost?
Weekly $7.99, Monthly $9.99, or Annual $79.99 (the best value, about $6.67 a month). Prices vary by region; your exact local price is always shown in the app before you buy.
What languages is the app in?
The interface ships in four — English, Spanish, Arabic and Danish, with Arabic laid out right-to-left. More are in progress. You can change it in Settings. Separately, you can save and practise vocabulary in any language, whatever your interface language is.
Does my data sync across devices?
Yes. Sign in on another device with the same account and your plan, projects, habits, ideas and vocabulary are all there. Alarms are the exception — they're stored on the phone that set them.
Do I need a streak?
No. Vela is built on momentum, not streaks — miss a day and nothing breaks or turns red.
Managing or cancelling your membership
Your membership is billed by the App Store or Google Play and renews automatically until you cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Inside Vela, open Settings and tap Manage subscription to change your plan, cancel, or ask for a refund. You can also do it directly with the store:
On iPhone or iPad
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Vela, then choose Cancel Subscription (or change your plan).
On Android
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Select Vela, then tap Cancel subscription.
Restoring a purchase on a new phone: sign in with the same store account, and tap Restore on the membership screen.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all of its data from inside the app: open Settings and choose Delete account. This removes your content from our backend, cancels every alarm and reminder Vela had scheduled on the device, and erases the app's local data. It can't be undone.
Deleting your account does notcancel an active store subscription — cancel that separately using the steps above. If you'd like help, email us and we'll sort it out.
